Consistency Over Perfection

Almost every client I work with has struggled with consistency in the past. They’ll go all-in for a week or two where they work out every day and their meals are “perfect”.. But then life happens, stress hits, or motivation dips, and they completely fall off the bandwagon. Weeks or even months go by with little effort, and then they try to be perfect again, only to repeat the cycle.

This is exactly what we work on in my program. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s building consistent habits that last. Showing up most of the time, even imperfectly, creates real progress.

It’s all about looking at the bigger picture. Doing two workouts a week consistently for a year will get you much further than doing seven workouts one week, falling off the next, and then doing nothing for weeks or months. Small, steady actions compound over time and lead to lasting change.

The 80/20 approach makes this doable. Focus on getting 80% of your nutrition and workouts “right,” leaving 20% for flexibility. Hit your protein goal, complete your planned workouts, stay active on non-training days, and prioritize sleep most of the time. But also enjoy your favorite meals, take rest days when needed, and don’t stress when life throws you off track.

Consistency beats perfection every time. Shift your focus to showing up, trusting the process, and letting progress accumulate. Over time, you’ll find it easier to stay on track and actually enjoy the journey.
